Well I finished the blue & beige striped cardigan (except for buttons). Picture to come. I’m sad to report, however, that I’m just not liking how my two tone teal blanket is coming out. I’ve tried denial for the last week & I think I’m finally ready to face the fact that I’ve knit 400 yards of cotton into 4 squares that look sort of okay separately but really yucky together. I don’t think I’m even willing to post them. Now I’ve got to figure out what to do.
I’m thinking that I’ll pull them apart & knit them into something that’s more pleasing but I haven’t figured out what that is – intarsia triangles? Simple squares? But the individual yarn pieces are all different sizes. Arrgh. Perhaps I’ll stick with denial for another couple of days.
In the mean time I’ve knit up another bib, this time in garter stitch. I’ve got 2 more balls of the cotton I’m been using for that, so I guess I’ll have a total of 5 bibs when I’m done.
What I’m really looking forward to is the Lucy Neatby course I’m taking on Saturday, which I’m hoping will help me with ideas for variegated yarns including a lovely autumn-coloured skein of Handmaiden silk I’ve been holding onto for a while.
Oh, I’m jealous that you’re taking one of the courses. I was away for the February guild meeting, and by the time I got back there was only space in the Monday workshops, which I can’t do.
I’m sure you’ll come up with something fantastic for the afghan!
