Yarn venture

Yesterday I had a lovely venture out to Perth, Ontario to Janie H. Knits. It’s a great store with an almost overwhelming variety of things. I ended up coming back with Jared Flood‘s Made in Brooklyn booklet (finally) and 2 gorgeous silver skeins of Alchemy Silken Straw.

This is for a small version of an upcoming shawl that’s just a sketch at the moment, so I really should start moving on that!

And here’s the nicest new pattern I’ve seen this week.

Crooked Paths is a hat in Madelinetosh yarn (drool) with an intriguing pattern from Melisa LaBarre (better known as knittingdropout on Ravelry, with her blog at knittingschooldropout.com. She’s got a new blog post up with more pictures & details. Beautiful stuff. It’s patterns like this that are getting me closer to finally acquiring some Madelinetosh of my own ;)
