I’ve been knitting, blocking, measuring, writing, and working with the test knitters to get the Strand of Pearls scarf ready.
This elegant scarf is mainly in garter stitch, with a lace edging of “pearls” that start small, increase in size to the middle of the shawl, and then decrease in size again. The scarf itself also starts small, increases to the middle, and decreases. The ends have a long triangular shape, with a rectangular center section. The pearls form a scalloped lace edge.
Last week the weather was gorgeous and Francine graciously agreed to come out for a few hours & get her picture taken. Here are the results, and an introduction to my Strand of Pearls scarf. This version is knit with about 1.5 skeins of Alchemy Silken Straw. I’m also working on a woolier version in some lovely hand-dyed sock yarn.
I’m still working on the final PDF – just a few more updates & a final check before it’s ready. If you like it, you can buy it before this Friday for $4 US. You’ll get access to the final PDF as soon as it’s loaded:
The price goes up to $6.00 US on Oct. 15th, 2010 when the final PDF will be available.
Oh, and 3 more sleeps until I leave for Rhinebeck!
