Fast Forward Scarf
I’ve had a look through all the names suggested for my new scarf pattern and I’m going with Fast Forward. Thanks very much to Anna Dalvi for the suggestion. I never would have come up with that on my own! She’ll get a copy of the pattern when I release it later this month, but with all of her upcoming designs & the book she’s working on, I imagine she’s busy!
As you may have noticed, I seem to be on a bit of a scarf kick. First Strand of Pearls, then Fast Forward, and most recently public, my Tudor Ruffles scarf which is included in the Winter 2010/11 edition of Knitcircus. It’s garter stitch lace weight mohair on the edges and fingering or worsted weight wool in the center in pleats. Here’s a picture courtesy of Knitcircus as well as one of Louise, the manager at the LYS:
So with all these scarves, I was thinking that it’s time for a December knit along with patterns & wooly prizes. Scarves aren’t a huge time commitment, it’s the right time of year (in this hemisphere at least), and I’ve got wool. So here’s the scoop:
1) Sign up in Ravelry (membership is free) in this thread here
2) I’ll do 4 draws on November 26th from those signed up for patterns – 2 people will get a copy of Fast Forward, and 2 people will get a copy of the Winter 2010 Knitcircus collection (yes, all 19 wonderful patterns!).
3) On December 1st I’ll do a draw from everyone who’s bought Fast Forward for 4 skeins of Quince & Co. Lark in River.
4) In Jan. 2011, I’ll do draws from all Natalie Servant Designs scarves started & finished in December 2010 for patterns & yarns. I haven’t figured out exactly what the prizes will be yet, but I’m thinking some nice sock yarns (Sundara), a skein of Sea Silk (in greens & browns), and some of my patterns.
You can make any of my scarf patterns – and you can make more than one. Each completed scarf made from one of my designs counts as an entry in the final draw.
Love both the scarves.
