It works, it really works

So here’s what I have after yesterday’s knitting efforts:

Yarn: 1.5 skeins (~860 yds) of Wollmeise 100% Merino Superwash in Jultomte.

Needles: 4 mm (US 6)

Pattern: Eiffel Tower Shawl

Modifications: added another yo/k2tog row after the border, as seen on a few other shawls

Yes, my Eiffel Tower Shawl (in Wollmeise sock, colour Jultomte) is off the needles. It looks messy, as unblocked lace usually does, but I know it’ll be fine. 8 months is rather long for a project, but I have been a bit busy. Posting my unfinished project here gave me the kick I needed to finish. It helped that I was knitting the garter edging at last night’s AGM of our kids’ not-for-profit daycare. That meeting flew by and by the end I only had about 75 stitches left on the needles. As I said to my husband it’s better to be not quite finished than to have finished with half an hour to go in the meeting!

Now I can focus my finishing energy on my ruffly scarf. As you can see, it doesn’t look that different from when I posted earlier, but I have been working on it. I just need  about another 33 pleats.
