I’ve been having a very good week getting fibery things at my mail box before Canada Post goes on strike!
Here’s some gorgeous yarn sent to me by Louise of Biscotte & Cie in St. Bruno, Quebec. It’s Bagatelle (~968 yards of lace weight yarn).
It seems like I’m filling out the last few colours that were underrepresented in my stash: first purple, now orange. This is a lovely superwash merino lace yarn. We’ll see what I come up with for it.
This week I got a wonderful surprise in a parcel from Joan – a Golding learn to spindle kit with this beauty in it (1.9 oz, for those who care). She really is The Fairy GodKnitter.
It came at just the right time: the kids were hungry and cranky, I had just got a call for a house showing the next morning, dinner needed to be made, and cleaning needed to happen. I needed a lift and this package totally did the trick. I may have even frittered away a couple of minutes playing with the natural brown fiber that came with this beauty.
On the design front, I’ve got a sunflower swatch that I’m happy with and I’m hopeful that I’ll have the pesky middle and border of the shawl solved by the end of the month. I’ve got to give myself a deadline, or it’ll never get done!
Yay!
I’m looking forward to seeing your sunflower design. Now I understand some of the colors we’ve seen lately. Isn’t that Joan fabulous?
Funny how I couldn’t get that spindle to work and you go and make yarn.
