Ok, it wasn’t an orgy, it was the DKC Spring Frolic in Toronto at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Center. Close enough. But I’ve got a bag full of stuff that needs to be shown off to folks who’ll truly appreciate it. As Anna noted, I’ve got more than 5km of yarn here, but the good news is that I think I knit about 2km in April.
Without further ado, I present my haul from Rocky Mountain Dyeworks (thanks so much, Hasmi):
Cascade Lace in Vineyard and Merlot, 2 Bow Falls Fingering in Sunflower
I made a stop at the Van Der Rock Yarns booth. I’d written back & forth with Steph before (oneandonlysteph on Ravelry), but I finally got to see the yarn in person. I ended up with 2 groups of 3 skeins of the Super Sock.
1 green gypsum & 2 yellow tartrazine (the colours really wake you up in person)
1 silver, 1 lead, 1 bismuth
Do you remember how I was helping Genevieve set up the Turtlepurl booth? Well the temptation of the roving was too great and I took a Merino Cashmere braid in Raspberry. Yummy!
As I mentioned, I was helping out Debbie Wilson at the Sheeps Ahoy booth. I finished the bright yellow Strand of Pearls but neglected to take any pictures. It really grew in blocking (on the hotel room floor Friday night). Right across from Debbie’s booth was the tempting Viola booth. I ended up with 2 skeins of Merino Lace: 1 in marigold, 1 in north sea.
Last time I showed Sarah spending her gift certificate. The truth is that we’re splitting the skein of Helen’s Lace in Grand Street Ink. Half is enough to make a shawl. So here it is.
And I bought some Qoperfina lace weight cottonĀ (naturally coloured) with copper Angelina from the Blue Castle Fiber Arts booth in Natural & Deep Golden Brown. Oh, and some cotton roving also naturally coloured in Golden Brown. It was too soft & tempting not to buy.
And here’s what happens when an almost-4-year-old happens on you taking pictures of your haul:
All your yarn are belong to us.
What a wonderful haul!
You did a great job… even before your little helper arrived. ;^)
Oh, oh, I have pictures.
