new hat: Weeping Willow

As some people noticed, the new Knitty came out this past Tuesday and I have a pattern in it. What a thrill! This is my double knit Weeping Willow hat:

It takes just two 50g skeins of DK weight yarn in whatever colours you fancy. I did a regular cast on with ribbing on one hat (easy version) and a tubular cast on on the other hat (harder version). Sarah suggested doing the tubular cast on & I agree that it does make a nice brim.

I don’t know exactly what made me do this hat, but I doodled a chart, played around with it a bit, and about 2 weeks later I had a couple of hats. I think I’ll have to knit another one for me now, and I’ve got just the yarn in the stash…

Big thanks go out to JennLouise & my daughter Z. for modelling the hats.
