Wonderful weekend in K-W

Here are some highlights of the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitters’ Guild Fair this past weekend:

Observations:

  • not everyone at a knitting fair looks happy, but most of them do
  • shoes that are comfortable at a sedentary day job may not work for a day of standing

My haul:

  • a spindle bag from Zig Zag Stitches (a birthday present from my parents)
  • a skein of merino-silk lace from Indigodragonfly in one of my favourite greens with a colourway name referencing one of my favourite movies (never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line!)

  • a skein of lace with bison

  • a 4oz bag of BFL/Shetland/llama pin-drafted roving from Hopeful Shetlands, which I’m going to try to spin a little thicker than my default yarn
  • a 6oz rope of BFL from Briar Rose, acquired from the very tempting Shall We Knit booth

And now I’ll go back to madly knitting on my due-at-the-end-of-the-month poppy shawl. All is looking well, it’s just that I still have much to knit!
