Earlier this year my Undulation design came out in the Quince & Co. scarf collection:
This is a simple-to-knit garter stitch scarf using 4 different colours of worsted weight Lark and it is shaped by short rows in the middle section.
I also made another one for me in a slightly different colour arrangement that spoke to me. I only changed two of the colours, but the look is very different:
This November, I’m having a scarf KAL contest. I’m challenging you to knit your own version of Undulation. Pick your own 4 colours, knit a scarf, and post your version in my Ravelry group to win prizes. If you don’t already own the pattern, you can pick it up for 50% off with the coupon code COLOUR.
Perhaps you’re not sure where to start in choosing colours. I mean, there are over 40 colours in Quince & Co. Lark alone. Have you got Christmas knitting to do? Have you or your gift recipient got a favourite team? A favourite school? A favourite painting? Or perhaps you want to pick colours that will coordinate with all of your fall and winter outerwear.
Post a picture of your scarf in the Undulation prize thread in my Ravelry group by Nov. 30, 2013. The winner will get a prize from Quince & Co: Carrie Bostick Hoge’s Belle Ascot pattern and a skein of Chickadee in your choice of colour to make it. The winner will be selected by a team of judges (me & a few creative friends).
There will also be at least one “People’s Choice” prize of some of my handspun and possibly some lovely stitch markers for the scarf that gets the most (love) clicks. It all depends on how many finished scarves there are to choose from!
You don’t have to knit with Quince & Co. yarn to play along – just break out your stash yarn and start knitting.
