It was a beautiful day today at Rhinebeck. I had one of my Goldings with me and some purple Fleece Artist merino. I got a little bit done.
I also picked up some things that will help me spin in the future. First is the TravelKate. I was impressed when I saw this product come out, but shuddered at the thought of getting it mailed to Canada. Then I read that they would be available at the Holiday Yarns booth. I was dithering between the cherry and a darker wood, but the cherry won.
Now I have a compact Kate for doing a 4 ply. I can’t wait to give it a try.
Next came a batt from Into the Whirled. I got Aurora Borealis. I suspect it’ll eventually go to someone else, but I really enjoy spinning these up.
And then this ball of Polwarth at Briar Rose called my name:
That’s about it for today. The weather was stunning and my feet are telling me that I did a fair bit of walking. Tomorrow we will take another look around to make sure we didn’t miss anything critical before heading home.
I love it all!
That kate is wonderful in cherry! Mine is walnut, so I love getting to see the other woods that he uses to make them. Wonderful fiber, of course.
Twas a lovely day in Rhinebeck! I picked up a small beautiful Turkish spindle. Now if I could find my carders…
I think ARory Borealis might have my name on it.
just kidding. Had a great weekend!! Thanks so much for putting up with me.
