Saturday spinning update: half way

One thing I’ve wanted to do since I got back from Rhinebeck is to use my new TravelKate to make a 4 ply yarn. This past week I got a start on filling up some bobbins. I took Nevermore (a Falkland/Silk blend from Southern Cross Fibre) and split it into quarters.

It’s spinning up quite well into nice skinny singles. I’ve got half of it here on these two bobbins. Now I need to finish the rest of it and I’ll be able to ply.

At the moment I’m just recovering from a wonderful weekend away in Gananoque at a knitting retreat. I’ve been going to this retreat for a few years now, but this was my first time as an instructor. All my stuff is still in bags and it might be next weekend before I feel like things are back where they’re supposed to be. Hopefully I can sneak in enough spinning time to be able to ply!
