Apparently the blanket that only took 8 years to complete (not 9, as previously blogged) has made its way to New Zealand and is in use by its recipient, my lovely nephew Dale, seen here.
This thing was a bit of an insane undertaking. I’ve thought about knitting it again (because I like how it looks) and I’ve determined that I would probably rejig the pattern, figure out the reverse way of making a fish, and then knit it all as one piece to avoid the dreaded many hours of finishing I experienced with this blanket. Although I was very happy with the tidiness of the final product, I think it took more time than it could have if I’d done it all at once. Sure, it would be a much less portable project, but I’d retain more of my sanity.
