As I mentioned on Ravelry, I’ve got a new shawl pattern that I’m getting ready for release. The only problem is it’s currently going by the very boring title of “Lace Diamond Capelet“. I need your help coming up with something better. Feel free to comment here or on Ravelry & let me know if you’ve got a better suggestion. The first person to suggest the winning title gets a copy of the pattern as soon as it’s released. I’m aiming for mid-August.
It’s a delightful beaded lace shawl knit with one skein of Woolen Rabbit Muireann (mmm, silk and linen) that drapes beautifully. It doesn’t threaten to slide off because of the shape: 8 sections increasing from a collar. The shape also means it hangs fairly long in front but is shorter and more straight across in the back than a triangular shawl. This pattern has been completely test knit in both written & charted versions.
My project is here, and here are some pictures with the lovely Francine (and in one case the statue of Laura Secord at the Valiants Memorial) as models:
I may be back later next week asking for help choosing among the best suggestions if there isn’t a clear winner in my head.
How about Crossroads of the World?
I keep thinking about “Lucy” (somewhat sheepishly, for “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”) because I keep imagining it in some lovely midnight blue laceweight and bright blue/silver beads that I have in my stash…
