I’m a day late, but I have done some spinning this week. I was in a mood to play with colour and I also wanted to spin pretty skinny singles. This is merino/silk from Fleece Artist that I bought back in November at Unraveled.
I took half of this, split it into quarters, and spun it up.
Then for the second half, I’m taking smaller strips for quicker colour changes and a kind of a fractal spin. I’m not at all sure how the final result will look, but it’s been fun so far.
Here are a couple of pictures from the week’s activities. One day when I got home from school Sam refused to take his tuque off and kept repeating that he didn’t want anyone to look at him. When I finally peeled it off, it became clear that he had a huge ball of Sticky Tack embedded in his hair. I managed to free much of the hair, but here’s what had to be snipped out:
I think it’s time for a haircut anyway. No real explanation was forthcoming on exactly how the Sticky Tack got there, but he’s quite a collector of things that he likes. If the teacher didn’t see this, it must have happened at the end of the school day.
And here are the siblings goofing around on the front couch after they said, “Take a picture, Mom!”
